There will be NO SCHOOL at USD 480 today, Friday, January 9, 2026. This is out of an abundance of caution with the expectation of worsening conditions throughout the day. Please stay safe.
With the potential for winter weather in the forecast for tomorrow, Friday, January 9, 2026, a decision will be made on school closures or delayed start before 6:00 AM. The safety of our students and staff will always be our top priority. IF there is a change to the day’s schedule, USD 480 will release all pertinent information through every outlet at our disposal. This includes local media, Wichita television stations, social media and on our website. We will also be sending a text message to parents, so today would be a good time to make sure you have your correct phone number in PowerSchool and have notifications turned on.

REMINDER: The NEW Liberal High School Attendance and Tardy Procedures will go into effect tomorrow, Wednesday, January 7, 2026. Please be familiar with the changes as we begin the second semester tomorrow.
LHS PARENTS AND STUDENTS! STARTING IMMEDIATELY: Please be aware that we have changed the entry and exit lanes for pickup and drop off at the FRONT(South side) of main campus. The first entry (East) off of Western on 2nd will be an ENTER ONLY, while the 2nd drive (West) will be an EXIT ONLY! The parking lot lanes will be one direction only, from East to West.

As the last full week of the Fall Semester comes to a close there are so many options to come out and support our USD 480 students as they showcase their talents. Tonight caps off a busy day with the home opener for the LHS Varsity Basketball teams against Wichita North starting at 5:30 in "The Big House" and today over 60 USD 480 band students have been preparing for the Five State Honor Band Concert that will be tonight at Guymon High School starting at 7 PM. Tomorrow is also a full slate of activities, so get out and support our USD 480 students tonight and tomorrow!
