USD 480 is pleased to announce Dr. Maureen Richard as the next Principal of MacArthur Elementary. Dr. Richard has spent the previous two school years as MacArthur's Assistant Principal. Prior to her current position, she taught kindergarten at MacArthur and Meadowlark, while also serving on various committees and teams during her 10 years at USD 480. Dr. Richard will assume her new role as principal after Mrs. Workman's retirement at the conclusion of this school year. "Liberal has always been a place that has allowed for me to grow, both personally and professionally, and I look forward to this next chapter. I am so thankful for the many mentors I have had throughout my time at USD 480, especially Mrs. Workman. We have become a strong team these last two years and I have learned so much about leadership from her. I know I have big shoes to fill, but I am confident in my ability to continue the great things she has put in place at MacArthur. Mrs. Workman will be greatly missed at USD 480 and I hope to make her proud as her successor." - Dr. Maureen Richard

Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences begin tomorrow and run through Thursday. If you do not have a time scheduled for your a conference this week, please contact your child's school as soon as possible on Monday. There will be NO SCHOOL Thursday (3/7) and Friday (3/8) this week.

Tonight we celebrated the USD 480 February Educator of the Month, Fred Kadow from Prairie View. Mr. Kadow teaches P.E. and is loved by all of his students. He has taught at USD 480 for 17 years and has continuously provided an engaging, active, and inclusive environment for all of his students. While teaching P.E. classes daily, he ensures students learn basic health, wellness, and physical skills. He monitors constantly to engage all students physically and socially during each activity. Students enjoy going to P.E. class and it's the favorite part of the school day for the majority of Pioneers! After 17 years of teaching physical education, Coach Kadow still exemplifies the importance of being a lifelong learner; he is always looking for new games, ideas, and units to extend our student learning and physical fitness. He's innovative and has brought several new programs to his school in the past few years. We are so grateful to have Mr. Kadow at USD 480 and Prairie View!

It was a successful Signing Day at LHS today! These five student-athletes signed to continue their athletic and academic careers at the collegiate level. We are proud of these seniors and all they have accomplished and can't wait to see what they do next! Congratulations!
