Sunflower's 2025 Teacher of the Year, Anita Gleason!!! We are so thankful to have you at Sunflower Elementary!
Last May, nominations opened for 2025 USD 480 Teacher of the Year. Nominations were submitted by parents, community members, and USD 480 employees to select a teacher of the year for each school in the district.
The USD 480 Teacher of the Year selection process follows the Kansas State Department of Education's process in nominating and selecting the winners. Each school within USD 480 has a teacher selected to be their teacher of the year, within this group a teacher is selected at both the elementary and secondary level to represent USD 480 at the state level.
Thank you to Sunflower's Parent Lighthouse Team that decorated the float. It looked great and the kids had so much fun!

September Calendar
We will be having our 1st Parent Lighthouse Team meeting on September 12, 2023 at Sunflower Elementary Library @ 5:30 pm (Door # 11).
Do you have friends who are also Sunflower parents? Invite them. We can't wait to see you all there! Thank you for being so supportive!
Due to the wind chill advisory for the morning of 1/6, USD 480 will be on a delayed start schedule. School will begin at 10 a.m. and there will be no a.m. preschool.
Liberal High School will be in remote learning 2/18 and 2/19. The internet café will be open and daily meaningful contact will still take place.
