Due to inclement weather, classes and activities are cancelled Tuesday, January 28th.
Classes will resume the 29th at regularly scheduled times.

Schools will be open at regular time and parents may drop off students at the usual time. Essential staff will be on duty to supervise students until 10:00 a.m.

All other staff will report at 9:30 a.m.

Adverse weather conditions are a possibility tomorrow morning. IF school is cancelled or delayed, posts to the USD 480 social media accounts will be made by 5:45 a.m. Media outlets will also be notified.
If there is no announcement made by 5:45 a.m., school will be in session.

With inclement weather forecasted for this afternoon and evening USD 480 will be monitoring conditions to make sure district travel can be made safely. Updates to any scheduled events will be posted on our social media, school website, and sent to our local media outlets.
Liberal High School will be welcoming students back for a regular school day on January 7, 2020. This is an update to the district calendar. We hope that everyone has an outstanding break!
This morning USD 480 was notified by a neighboring school district of a potential issue with a former Liberal High School student. As a precautionary measure, Liberal High School was put into a hold-in-place. The hold-in-place has now been lifted based on the Liberal Police Department recommendation. School has resumed as normal.
Normal operations have resumed at LHS.
As a precautionary measure, LHS is currently in a hold in place. Details will be released as they become available.
UPDATE: Those believed to be responsible for making threats at Eisenhower Middle School last week were identified and arrested shortly after the threat was reported. USD 480 appreciates the Liberal Police Department and EMS staff who worked diligently for this outcome. An additional potential threat was investigated today. No charges were filed.

Over the past week threats against the school have been reported in two buildings. All threats are taken seriously and reported to law enforcement immediately. The threats are being investigated by law enforcement as well as USD 480 administration. The safety of students and staff is our most important priority.
We need to tell our story in Liberal! We are doing GREAT things for students!
