Hovercraft Competition Construction The hovercraft must be built to carry one person. It must have a tarp or heavy plastic on the bottom. No sharp objects may be exposed on the bottom to cause damage to any floor surface. The diameter of the hovercraft must be no more than 4 ft. The hovercraft must be powered by either a vacuum in reverse suction or a leaf blower in suction mode. Course The course will be 25 meters straight. The push zone before the course will be 5 meters in length. The hovercraft must be started with a push only by one person. You will receive 2 attempts at a legal start. If after 2 attempts you can not have a legal start you are disqualified. The races will occur in elimination rounds, with final rounds happening after all elimination rounds have been completed.
