PUTTING YOUR DISPLAY TOGETHER The results of your investigations will be exhibited in your display. Good work on a science project can be overlooked, if you don't take the time to plan and construct your display. 1. ALL PROJECTS MUST HAVE A TITLE BOARD WHEN COMPETING IN THE DISTRICT SCIENCE FAIR. This makes the project sturdier to prevent it from falling off or falling onto another project and causing damage. The backboard for the exhibit can be purchased at Wall*mart or office supply stores. It may also be constructed from a variety of sturdy materials. The most commonly used is heavy cardboard from a large sized box, painted or covered with colored paper. 2. A 110-volt AC, single phase power service will be available. Please make this request on your entry form. 3. A diagram or picture is worth a thousand words. However, pictures are much more meaningful with appropriate captions. 4. Titles or labels should be neat, large, clear, and informative. The project should tell a story; it should explain itself. All students are encouraged to use computers on any part of their project except where actual data is recorded in the Data Notebook. 5. Clear instructions, if required for operating your project, should be posted by the exhibit. 6. Project must not occupy table or floor space larger than 40 inches wide, and 24 inches deep. A limit of 60 inches in height has been set. (This is from the bottom of board to the top, the tables are 32 inches high.) 7. Project must not contain live animals. 8. Project may include a displayed product, example, or demonstration. |
