Leslie Prieto was the first novice from Liberal High School’s NFL (National Forensic League) to go to state on April 30th.
National Forensics League promotes middle and high school debate and speech to develop student’s life skills and values. A novice is a beginner.
“I accomplished to write a speech with the help of my teacher and classmates.” Said Leslie Prieto when asked what she had accomplished. She was very proud of herse lf “because I don’t see myself as a writer,” Leslie stated.
Select few traveled to compete at Topeka, Kansas from the LHS’s Forensics Team, along with other schools. Leslie gave her speech on original oratory and “competed against others from all over the state.”
As a follow-up, Leslie did not make it to finals, nor did anyone from LHS.

Review of The Back-Up Plan
The movie The Back-Up Plan stars Jennifer Lopez, Alex O'Loughlin, and Eric Christian Olsen. I would give this film 4 out of 5.
In this movie Zoe (Jennifer Lopez) decides to get an artificial insemination. On that same day she meets Stan (Alex O'Loughlin) practically the man of her dreams. They start seeing each other but Stan still does not know that Zoe is pregnant. It is a real comedy to watch Zoe try to hide the fact that she is pregnant.
When Zoe finds out that she really in fact is pregnant and that the insemination worked she decides to tell Stan. At first Stan is shocked and does not know what to say. After thinking things through Stan decides to take in the responsibility. They go see the ultra sound and Zoe finds out she is going to have twins! It is funny to watch how they prepare for the new family members.
Zoe and Stan have their ups and downs just like any other couple, but at the end they make it through and decide to get married. Also, as you can tell they did everything backwards.
The genre is comedy and romance. I would really recommend The Back-Up Plan because while being a romance the movie is hilarious.
