I am Diane Hensley Parent & Family Liaison for Liberal Public Schools. I have worked for USD 480 since 1978 as a licensed Speech and Language Pathologist, Migrant Even Start Coordinator and now as Parent & Family Liaison. My job involves coordinating parent engagement for the district, working with students and families who are migrant and homeless, serving as a liaison to other community organizations, and as project coordinator for the Early Learning Communities Preschool grant project. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Wichita State University and a Master of Arts in Communication Disorders and Sciences also from Wichita State University. My husband Bryan and I raised 5 sons all of whom attended Liberal schools and graduated from Liberal High School. We are the proud grandparents of 11 grandchildren. I love my job because each day presents new and different challenges. I enjoy working with teachers, helping children and families, and advocating for the best possible educational opportunities for all of the students in USD 480.
